About Shawn Macksood

For me, Pilates started out as another new exercise to try. I’ve always been an avid walker, and I’d been taking HIIT, Spin, and strength training classes when I signed up for a Pilates class. Soon, I was hooked! I loved how my body felt; less joint pain and muscle tightness, less creaking and popping. I also felt it was both easier to focus when I needed to and relax when I had free time. As an Aveda trained Esthetician, the mind-body connection was familiar and interesting to me. It didn’t take long before I was signed up for Pilates instructor training. I’ve been fortunate to be able to train with a nationally recognized Balanced Body Trainer here in Michigan. In my first class, she talked about every (body) aging gracefully, and being able to move with ease, economy and efficiency. I knew I wanted to share that philosophy with my community. With the many different modifications of practice available, Pilates can be right for any fitness level. We all have just one body for our journey, and we should feel good traveling in it!
