Somatic Movement is “Very Slow” motion during which you focus on the internal experience and feeling of the movement instead of what it looks like from the outside. You have to be present and aware of what’s happening in the movement during the movement. Somatic stretching is one type of somatic movement. It’s exploratory. It’s discovering patterns of tension that are deeply learned in
nervous system that doesn’t allow us to develop healthy patterns of movement.
The benefits are learning to maintain your muscle memory to help aid in your chronic muscle tension, then helping to relieve your chronic pain, improve your posture and movement flow, and help you recover from common musculoskeletal conditions. This class is for everybody from teens through the aged adults. It’s a non-competitive, small class in a series that focuses on you and your individual process of re-learning and resetting yourself physically, emotionally and beyond.
