Parnell Boucha
An old knee injury from a lifetime of sports led me to try yoga. Within a few short months, full range of motion returned to that knee with no more pain. Two decades later I am still learning something new every time I step on my mat. After 24 years of studying the science of yoga, and 16 years of teaching it, I realize the importance of passing on what has been given to me. Words fail to convey the total value of yoga; it has to be experienced. With roots in Hatha Yoga, there are several yoga styles which serve one's wants, needs, body type or health concerns. I am offering yoga sessions for Starting Yogis, Vinyasas, Power Yoga, Aging Healthy Yoga, Chair Yoga, Restorative and Yin Yogas. There is something for every body.

Preety Otal
Preety Otal is a Detroit-area native turned Lansing, MI yoga and fitness instructor known for her strong, yet compassionate slow flows, soothing baritone voice, and - when applicable - a knack for a great music playlist. Her personal practice began as a young child as a therapeutic regimen, but the practice drifted away as age progressed; she later returned to it with great devotion in her 20s. She credits her practice with saving her life, quite literally, by being a dynamic expression of inner and outer fortitude in wake of trauma, moreso than was ever explored in her athletic history or MSU education. She completed her 200 hour teacher training at Hilltop Yoga in Lansing, MI in 2016, and then found the joy and inspiration of teaching as she completed additional hours as an apprentice. After the events of the COVID-19 pandemic continued, Preety made the choice to turn to teaching yoga and fitness full-time as more compelling work, rather than returning to her previous work industries, and is all the more fulfilled because of these changes.
While you'll usually find Preety teaching her alignment-minded slow burn vinyasa yoga, she also teaches HIIT, fitness, and swimming classes. All of this exploration of strength then lead to her teaching yin and restorative expressions, encouraging a return to softness to yield the mind/body to further release. Her classes always acknowledge that yoga - specifically, YOUR yoga - will always be a journey. Come join her for the adventure, friends.

Class Types
CHAIR YOGA
If you are brand new to yoga or easing your way back into your practice, this is for you. The class will develop strength, flexibility and comfort level as you explore your physical boundaries. You will be guided through a full-body experience, complete with breathwork, by using the chair for support and as a prop, to help you in your practice.
VINYASA
These classes will range from a slow flow, in which there is time to explore individual postures and transitions. Slow flow builds confidence and familiarity while working with fluid movement and breath. To a stronger vinyasa flow class with higher intensity and a quick pace, in which a series of poses follow the rhythm and power of the breath.
ALL LEVELS VINYASSA
This class is for those that have had the very basics of yoga poses and sun salutations on up. Choosing to work at your own pace allows you to adapt to your own needs in the flows. With our classes being purposely small, it allows the instructor to guide you personally on how to modify, tweak your positions and push you harder through your practice and postures safely.
YIN
Yin yoga is a gentle and relaxing all-level class that works deeply into the connective tissues and joints of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine and is suitable to all levels of students through extended holds of postures. A great class for beginners or advanced students looking for a restful class that works on restoring flexibility and/or working deeply into joints and tissues that are “locked up” from past injuries or from repetitive motion.
SLOW BURN
This class offers slower sequences, allowing you to hold poses longer, ignite the body’s ability to generate heat, while bringing you into balance. You will focus on breath work & body awareness while building stamina. All the while calming the body, the nervous system the mind. Closing with a Savasana allows for a fully relaxed experience after a fiery slow flow.
BARRE TO YIN
Strengthen your core, lengthen your muscles and find your focus as we start off the mat to find a mixture of Pilates, strength training, and yoga-then keep building intensity as we move to the barre and find a variety of fun, engaging and strong movement! We round out the session by bringing it back to the mat before cooling the body down, sweetening with a nice savasana to leave it it all on the mat!
SENIOR YOGA
This class provides the opportunity to connect with mind, body & breath through the discovery of learning the correct and proper body mechanics and learning how to move all the ways the body can to experience movement safely. While exploring your breathwork and alignment through easy flows and the use of props to aid you, you’ll also be able to improve your circulation, and connections to the musculature while building better balance, flexibility & strength.
HATHA
HATHA is a traditional type of yoga focusing on breathwork, physical postures and meditation. A balance in the body’s physical and spiritual energies. It’s aim is to purify and strengthen the body, along with improving balance, flexibility and promoting inner peace. Often it is seen as the preparatory work for more advanced yoga practices.
RESTORATIVE
RESTORATIVE is for everyone, young or old, whether you are training for a marathon, doing weight training or sitting all day. Poses are based on floor postures to stretch, open and release the muscle groups of the entire body. It improves recovery, mobility, and sleeping, while reducing aches and pains.
